Quality Standards Electronic Downloads Help

I used to be able to access my Documents, but now I can't. How I can I access the documents again?

We've recently upgraded our software, which reset all the documents. Please download a new document version from either the user menu or the Members menu.

I downloaded the FileOpen Software, but opening the document returns and error saying it's incompatible with my Adobe Reader Program, or doesn't open at all.

First, be sure you installed FileOpen Software on your system by clicking on the downloaded .exe file.

Secondly, Your computer may be trying to access your document using another PDF viewing application. Adobe has created several PDF reader applications, including one called Adobe Reader Touch (which comes default on some Windows operating systems).  FileOpen Software does not work with all of Adobe's PDF Reader Software. FileOpen does not work with Adobe Reader Touch.

The FileOpen Software does work with the Adobe Reader DC software.  Please try downloading and installing the Adobe Reader Software on your computer from here, and trying to open the PDF again.

The FileOpen Software is requiring me to enter a username and password. Where can I find this?

The username and password for the documents is the same as your IDEA website username and password.

My username and password returned an error with FileOpen. I want to re-enter my username and password, but it's not giving me the option.

FileOpen resets your username and password every time you close Adobe Acrobat Reader. Please close Adobe Acrobat Reader and open the file again. You will be presented with the FileOpen login screen once more.

FileOpen returns the error "You do not have access to this file."

Your username doesn't have the correct permissions. If you are a member or part of a member company, please contact your Member Representative. If you are not an IDEA member, please contact us so we can work out this issue.

FileOpen returns the error "Login Failed. Please try again."

First, check that you have the correct username and password by logging into IDEA. If you're password or username is returning errors, you can always request your username gets emailed back to you, or reset your password. Remember, your username and password are case sensitive.

If you have typed in your correct username and password, and are still returning an error, perhaps your username hasn't been granted its correct permissions. If you are a member or part of a member company, please contact your Member Representative. If you are not an IDEA member, please contact us so we can work out this issue.

I entered in my usesrname and password for FileOpen, but the document didn't open up and it didn't return any error message.

With Adobe Acrobat Reader still open, click on the file again. Sometimes FileOpen does not open the file initially after login, but will when you select it again.
